WPC ETA Approval.

Review Equipment Type Approval (ETA) for eligible equipment using licence-exempt bands, with RF reports and product documents.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

Equipment Type Approval addresses eligible wireless equipment operating in licence-exempt bands. The technical review checks frequency, power, intended use and the applicable route before preparing supporting records. ETA does not by itself establish compliance with every telecom, import, spectrum or product requirement.

First, establish what applies

These are activity-specific checks, not a standard package for every business. Product classification, premises, capacity and state rules determine what applies.

What the scoped work can cover

  • ETA route and technical eligibility review
  • Model-linked RF and applicant checklist
  • Other-permission and product-change review
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Applicant identity, company records and manufacturer authorisation where applicable

  2. 02

Model identifiers, product literature and a description of the wireless function

  3. 03

Frequency bands, output power and RF technical specifications

  4. 04

RF test report and laboratory details acceptable for the selected route

  5. 05

Existing ETA records, model changes and relevant import information if applicable

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Assess equipment eligibility

Review the device category, bands, power and exclusions from the selected ETA route.

  2. 02

    Check the RF evidence

Match technical literature, model names and the RF test report to the equipment.

  3. 03

    Prepare the ETA application

Organise the agreed application and self-declaration information where that route is available.

  4. 04

    Review other permissions

Check the ETA scope and identify any separate import, telecom or spectrum obligations.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Retain the model-linked technical file and reassess changes to RF components, operating bands, output power, model identity or intended use.

Explore obligations beyond your core business
05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Can every wireless product use self-declaration?+

No. Equipment eligibility and route exclusions need review. Products such as drones, radar, jammers or satellite equipment can require different treatment.

02What makes an RF report useful?+

It should identify the equipment and provide the technical evidence required for the route. Acceptability is checked against the authority’s current requirements.

03Does ETA replace all import approvals?+

No. Other product, import, telecom or spectrum permissions may apply independently.
