ISO certification coordination.

Plan a suitable management system certification process with the certification body.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

ISO management-system work starts with the business scope and the standard that addresses its needs. Coordinate process documentation, implementation and audit readiness with the selected certification body. ISO develops standards; independent certification bodies perform certification, and their scope and accreditation should be assessed separately.

First, establish what applies

IEC requirements differ for goods and services, with specific exemptions. Recognition, procurement registrations and ISO certification do not replace tax or industry approvals.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Standard and certification-scope review
  • System readiness and documentation action plan
  • Audit coordination and maintenance checklist
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Organisation profile, sites, headcount and proposed certification scope

  2. 02

Process maps, policies, objectives and assigned responsibilities

  3. 03

Operational procedures, risk records and evidence relevant to the selected standard

  4. 04

Internal audit, management review and corrective-action records where established

  5. 05

Existing certificate and certification-body or accreditation information, if applicable

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Choose the standard and scope

Clarify the business need, covered sites and processes rather than choosing a certificate by name alone.

  2. 02

    Review system readiness

Identify documentation and implementation gaps against the selected management-system requirements.

  3. 03

    Coordinate audit preparation

Organise internal records and the interface with the independently selected certification body.

  4. 04

    Track findings and surveillance

Review audit actions and the continuing system maintenance and surveillance requirements.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Maintain the management system, close audit findings and monitor surveillance, recertification, certificate scope and significant organisational changes.

05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Does ISO issue the certificate?+

No. ISO develops standards and does not perform certification. The independent certification body and its credentials need review.

02Can paperwork alone establish certification readiness?+

No. The organisation should demonstrate implementation and evidence for the system within the proposed scope.

03Does certification replace licences?+

No. A management-system certificate does not replace statutory tax, product, premises or industry permissions.
