DPIIT / Startup India recognition.

Review eligibility and documentation for the startup’s own recognition application through the official route.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

Prepare a clear case for startup recognition by reviewing the entity, its activities and evidence of innovation or improvement. We help organise the recognition brief and supporting material. The startup submits its own application on NSWS using its own contact details, in line with Startup India’s official guidance.

First, establish what applies

Entity formation, tax registrations and optional recognition schemes are different steps. Udyam and Startup India recognition do not replace incorporation or operating licences.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Recognition eligibility and evidence checklist
  • Reviewed business description and supporting-material index
  • Applicant self-submission and query-preparation guidance
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Entity incorporation or registration certificate and PAN details

  2. 02

    Founder and authorised applicant information

  3. 03

Pitch deck or concise explanation of innovation, improvement and scalability

  4. 04

Website, product demonstration or proof-of-concept evidence

  5. 05

Turnover and incorporation-date records for the applicable eligibility review

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Check current eligibility

Review the permitted entity form, age, turnover and business origin conditions.

  2. 02

    Build the evidence brief

Describe the problem, solution, progress and innovation with supporting material.

  3. 03

    Review the draft

Check consistency between the application narrative and entity records.

  4. 04

    Applicant self-submission

The startup uses its own NSWS account and handles declarations and official communications.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Preserve the application evidence and review each incentive separately; recognition does not replace incorporation, tax filings, operating licences or a scheme’s additional approval.

05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Does DPIIT appoint private recognition agents?+

Startup India states that it has not appointed agencies or representatives; applications should be filed by the startup itself using its own details.

02Is recognition the same as tax exemption?+

No. Any tax exemption or scheme benefit has its own eligibility and approval process.

03Is the official recognition application chargeable?+

The ministry does not charge an official fee for the recognition application. Any separately agreed advisory work is distinct from the government process.
