Copyright registration.

Organise authorship, ownership, permissions and application records for eligible original work.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

Create an organised ownership record for an eligible original work through copyright registration. We review the work category, authorship, assignments and publication particulars, then coordinate the application and supporting material. Registration records support evidence of ownership; they do not replace permissions or resolve every competing-rights dispute.

First, establish what applies

Search, application, examination and grant or registration are different stages. Assess ownership, prior rights, classes and evidence with the relevant IP professional; an application does not guarantee protection.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Work category and ownership documentation review
  • Prepared application and supporting record set
  • Diary reference and scrutiny follow-up checklist
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Copy of the work in the category-specific filing format

  2. 02

Applicant and author identity, address and nationality details

  3. 03

    Authorship, employment and assignment records

  4. 04

Publication dates, countries and publisher particulars if published

  5. 05

Required owner or author permissions and NOCs

  6. 06

Agent authorisation and related trademark or design details where relevant

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Identify the work and owner

Review originality, the category of work and the chain of ownership.

  2. 02

    Prepare application particulars

Reconcile authorship, publication, permissions and the work copy required for filing.

  3. 03

    Coordinate filing

Submit the agreed application record and retain the diary reference.

  4. 04

    Follow scrutiny

Review discrepancies, objections or hearing requirements and retain the registration record if issued.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Keep source files, creation history, licences and written assignments, and review record changes if ownership or application particulars change.

Explore obligations beyond your core business
05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Does copyright exist only after registration?+

Copyright in an eligible original work can arise without registration. Registration can provide an evidentiary record; rights and ownership still depend on the law and facts.

02Who should apply if an agency created the work?+

Review the contract, authorship and any written assignment. Paying for work does not by itself answer every copyright ownership question.

03Does copyright protect my brand name?+

Names and brand identifiers may need trademark protection. Copyright generally concerns eligible original expression, so the work and intended protection should be assessed separately.
