Change, convert & close

Change registered office.

Identify the route for the proposed move, with address evidence, approvals and applicable filings.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

Move the entity’s official address through the route appropriate to its current and proposed locations. We review premises evidence, internal approvals and any jurisdiction change, then coordinate applicable filings. Moving across state or Registrar boundaries can involve additional steps beyond a routine address update.

First, establish what applies

A structure transition may require a new entity and business transfer rather than a direct statutory conversion. Eligibility, consents, liabilities, taxes, contracts and licences need review. Closing an entity does not automatically cancel its tax or operating registrations.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Jurisdiction-specific move checklist
  • Prepared address evidence and applicable approval or filing package
  • Submission record and connected-registration update plan
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Incorporation details and current registered office record

  2. 02

Full proposed address and jurisdiction details

  3. 03

Ownership, lease or rent agreement for the new premises

  4. 04

Owner’s no-objection consent and current utility evidence

  5. 05

Board, member or partner approval records as applicable

  6. 06

Creditor and regulatory information if the route requires further approval

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Classify the move

Check local, Registrar and state boundaries and the entity-specific process.

  2. 02

    Verify the premises

Review the address documents, owner consent and consistency of the proposed address.

  3. 03

    Obtain approvals and file

Coordinate the required internal decisions, applications, notices and address filing for the route.

  4. 04

    Update connected records

Map amendments to tax registrations, licences, banks, correspondence and stationery.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Maintain address evidence and signage, and ensure statutory communications can be received reliably at the registered office.

05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Can every move use a simple address filing?+

No. A move outside local limits, between Registrar jurisdictions or across states may require additional approvals and procedures.

02Does an MCA address change update GST automatically?+

No. Tax and other registration amendments need separate review; a move to another state can create additional registration consequences.

03Can a rented address be used?+

A rented address may be usable where lawful and properly supported. The lease, owner consent, utility evidence and any restrictions must be checked.
