Bank account opening resolution.

Document approval to open an account and identify authorised signatories and operating instructions.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

A bank account opening resolution records an entity’s approval to open and operate an account through authorised people. It should match the entity’s governing documents and the bank’s mandate requirements. The document supports the application; account approval, KYC, digital access and any later mandate changes remain subject to the bank’s process.

First, establish what applies

Documents should reflect the transaction, parties, location and applicable law. Drafting, legal advice, disputes, execution, stamping and registration need appropriate professional review; a template alone does not complete those steps.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Account-opening resolution draft
  • Signatory and mandate schedule
  • Bank submission checklist
02 / GET READY

A useful brief.
A stronger starting point.

Bring these inputs and existing records to the drafting discussion. They help turn a standard format into a document that reflects your situation.

  1. 01

Entity constitution and existing banking authority

  2. 02

Bank, branch and intended account type

  3. 03

    Proposed signatories and signing combinations

  4. 04

    Transaction limits and online-banking roles

  5. 05

Meeting details and bank’s prescribed mandate format

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Confirm entity authority

Check which governing body can approve the account and mandate.

  2. 02

    Design account operation

Agree signatories, joint or single operation, limits and digital access.

  3. 03

    Draft bank approval

Prepare wording aligned with the selected bank’s requirements and actual decision.

  4. 04

    Assemble bank handover

Check certified-copy requirements and identify KYC and activation steps outside the resolution.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Does the resolution guarantee account opening?+

No. The bank separately reviews KYC, eligibility and its internal requirements.

02Can online banking be included?+

Yes, the intended roles can be authorised, but the bank’s digital-access forms and controls still apply.

03What if a signatory later leaves?+

A replacement mandate and bank update may be needed. Internal resignation records alone do not update bank access.
